Understand GDPR requirements effective May 25, 2018

The European General Data Protection Regulation, known popularly by its acronym GDPR, represents a comprehensive regulatory regime whose reach clearly extends far beyond the geographic borders of the EU.

Data processors will be subject to, among other things, GDPR’s restrictions on the transfer of personal data outside of EU, and they will share responsibility with controllers for determining compliant security measures.  Data controllers will be required to demonstrate their compliance by designing and implementing appropriate technical and organizational measures and then testing and documenting their effectiveness.
